We just spent about one and half day in Munich to visit the best places in the city and to see how is life in a such a big city. The city is really beautiful but for me is really agglomerated. We just spent about 3 hours to find the street where Dan's friend work to have a good place to park the car.

In the first day we visited the famous industrial museum Deutsches Museum. This was the best museum I ever visited, because the things there are lot more closer to me than any sculpture or painting.

Plains, boats, cars, engines, satellites, rowers from NASA moon project, giant telescopes, planetarium, and a lot of things. One day is not enough to see everything there. A lot of exposition has moving parts, some moved electrically or by the laws of physics, and you can touch, try a lot of them.

We visited the one of the famous parks in Munich named Olympia Park, with a lake in the middle and the Olympia tower which has a rotating restaurant at the top. You can also walk even above the restaurant and you can see the whole city.

From there you can see the BMW factory, the Alliantz Arena football arena, and the Englischer Garten Park.

In the second day we had a great walk around the Englischer Garten and we also tried a paddle boat on the lake in the middle of the park. Of course here also a lot of ducks :)

Munich History

Ø   When the twentieth century took off, the city was housing more than 500,000 residents. Ingenious kinds such as Marc, Kandinsky, Klee, Ibsen, Mann and Strauss made the city home, grouped in the bohemian community of Schwabing. Ø   The city was roughly famished to extermination during WWI and as a source of after-war political mayhem and economic disintegration. The Nazi made its first get-together at Hofbräuhaus. The city was stigmatized by the later generations being the center of Hitler's actions. Weeks after his ascension to command, a fateful concentration camp was created at Dachau. 1938, it became the horrifying night for the... Read more »
