On a steep, conical hill, the highest point of Oberschwaben (772 m above sea-level) the Waldburg rises. It was the ancestral castle of the lineage of the imperial duke of the same name. From 1221 through 1240 the imperial regalia were kept here.

Waldburg is a really small town really close to Ravensburg where we visited an ancestral castle.

It is a really well maintained castle with a lot of rooms and expositions, like shields, trophies, paintings, and a lot of old furniture. It is funny to find yourself back in time and imagine the lords living there.

A really great destination, not so far away.

This is only one of the castels in that region, maybe next time we can visit more of them.

Mannheim Sights

Water Tower. This tower is considered the most celebrated landmark of the city of Mannheim. Constructed with yellow sandstone with a height of approximately 60 meters, the water tower was built in 1886. The Roman monumental style along with the statue of Amphitrite, wife of the god of the sea, appears to be very prominent characteristics of the tower. Apart from being a cultural landmark, the Water Tower also serves as a recreational site. It has pools and a park where people can relax.Mannheim Sights – Museums and Galleries Tourists don’t just visit the cultural and recreational sites of Mannheim. They also find themselves...
