Jackson Hole Sights and Landmarks Guide, Wyoming
Jackson Hole, Wyoming is commonly known as the “Crown Jewel” in the Western part of the United States of America. Originally known as Jackson’s Hole, this place consists of low-lying valleys that are surrounded by breathtaking mountains, which never fail to take the breath away of numerous tourists during any time of the year.
Beautiful scenery is not the only thing that Jackson Hole has to offer its many visitors. History and culture abound in this valley; and, with its scenery, a lot of recreational activities can be done here, reminiscent to Hailey, which the entire family can enjoy.
Although tours can be arranged to view several Jackson Hole sights, car rentals are also available. There is also public transportation readily available in the form of the START bus, which is an efficient and highly affordable way to get around the valley.
Jackson Hole Sights – Historical and Cultural Attractions
To avail of the historical landmarks that Jackson Hole has to offer, visit Town Square near Deloney Avenue. At the center point of Town Square, tourists can find large arches made solely of the antlers of elks that are collected from the National Elk Refuge, which can be found to the North of Town Square. Each spring, male elks lose their existing antlers, which grow back by summertime. These arches are a favorite spot for visitors to take pictures at. Other outstanding Jackson Hole sights that can be found here are in the form of past landslides, lakes and rivers, as well as a great view of the Teton Mountain Range.
Jackson Hole simply thrives with the arts, with more than fifty art galleries available within the valley. Local scenery is depicted on paintings that make great souvenirs, though you can also simply go to the National Museum of Wildlife Art for some art appreciation, while children will particularly enjoy the entertaining “Ripley’s Believe It or Not”.
Jackson Hole Sights – Natural Attractions
A lot of day trips for Jackson Hole sights can be arranged, with some world-renowned tourist attractions nearby, such as the Caribou Targhee National Forest. There are camping sites that surround the Palisades Reservoir. And if you are an avid lover of water sports, this place is definitely the place for you. For fishing enthusiasts, a great spot to catch some salmon or wild trout would be Jackson Lake. But if it is fly-fishing you are passionate about, you may want to make a short trip to Idaho Falls.
A huge number of tourists visit Jackson Hole every year just to explore the wide territory of Grand Teton National Park, which conveniently lies minutes away and comes with endless choices of hiking trails surrounded by gorgeous glacial peaks. If you have several days to spare, you can also head to the North of Jackson Hole to visit the tremendous Yellowstone National Park. Here, you can view various geothermal springs, along with the legendary Old Faithful Geyser.
