Jackson Hole is the perfect destination for mountain lovers and an ideal little spot to visit if touring the nearby Idaho Falls, Yellowstone National Park or Grand Teuton National Park. It is actually called Jackson, but it is usually known as Jackson Hole, due to the valley where it is located. Having a population of about 10.000, this town has developed mostly through the tourist services it provides and has a strong environmental concern for the beautiful and very important ecosystem it belongs to.

For those of you who feel more adventurous, there are even some “wild west tours” which you can go on. Due to its location this city allows for extended wildlife tours in the nearby natural reservations, but it also has plenty to offer by itself: the Snow King resort which is located right in Jackson Hole has one of the steepest slopes in the nation and is illuminated by night. Also, at just twelve miles from the city, you can find one of the biggest resorts in the country, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Be it summer or winter, this area can provide great entertainment both through its natural resources (you can enjoy a hot spring bath or a dogsledding tour) and through its extensive shopping and restaurant district.

Jackson Hole seems to have it all, from wildlife to culture and celebs. Although it is a small community, it has extensive boardwalks and plenty of art galleries, and it hosts the annual “Jackson Hole Writers Conference”, which takes place in June and has already reached its seventeenth edition. Also, when taking a hike through the area, you may run into Harrison Ford, Uma Thurman or the Rockefeller family, who are among the celebrities that chose Jackson Hole as their perfect getaway spot. Traditions are very well kept and respected by the locals, so Jackson is the place where you’ll find the largest barbed wire ball in the world and four arches made out of shed elk antlers in the town's main square. Just a few miles further you can visit the elks themselves, together with moose, swans and bighorn sheep.
