Strumica History
During the revolt led by Nikola’s sons Samuel, David, Aron, and Mojsej, the region became a part of the first Macedonian state in the late 10th century. However, in 1018, after the Macedonian soldiers were defeated by the Byzantine soldiers, the city and the rest of Macedonia had once more been occupied by the Byzantines.
