Aalborg Nightlife, Denmark
Aalborg would not be known as the “Little Paris of the North” if not for its very active nightlife. Over 300 pubs and restaurants grace the city nightlife and dining experience.
The Jomfru Ane Garden is a very popular strip in Aalborg because of its major contribution in the city nightlife. The strip has several music pubs, bars, cafes, and dance clubs that are active until dawn. The best cafes of Aalborg are often crowded in the evening. These include the John Bull, Café Pollys, Café Klosterorvet, and Café Luna. These cafes are open for daily night entertainments.
Occasional concerts are available in Molle Park that hosts most of the major concerts in the city. The Skovdalen and the Kilden Park also serve as favorite venues of rock concerts especially during summer. North of the Kilden Park is the Aalborg Kongres og Kultur Center. This is the home of the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and serves as a venue for cultural shows, opera, and ballet performances.
Famous dance clubs in Aalborg include the Musik Keller, a dance club at the basement of the Provence Restaurant. Keller opens only during Fridays and Saturdays from 11 pm to 6am, the time when most of Aalborg’s population just starts to sleep. Keller offers free admission and DJs who play the most recent music from other cities like London, New York, and Los Angeles.
The Rendez-Vous has a dance floor upstairs and a bar and drinking facilities on the ground floor. Most of the clubbers who visit Rendez-Vous are university students.
Another dance club with bar that is also open during Fridays and Saturdays only is the Cube. The Cube is another proof of a city that never sleeps because it also operates from 11pm to 6am. Those who want to try their luck can spend their night at the A Casino. The Casino offers several games including slot machines, stud poker, black jack, American Roulette, etc. The casino charges an entrance fee of 50DKK ($8.50/£4.50). The casino operates from 7pm-4am.
Most of Aalborg’s nightspots are open at night and people have a rest when the sun starts to shine. These spots got the city the brand “the city that never sleeps” and the “Little Paris of the North.” Literally, the city never sleeps especially the partygoers who spend the entire night dancing and drinking in the clubs and pubs that operate from dusk till dawn.
