Cairo, the largest city in Africa, is the capital of Egypt, has a population approximated at 15 million and covers an area of 453 square km. It is situated in the border of the river Nil at 161 km from the Mediterranean Sea at the edge of the desert.

Before the building of our days metropolis n that place there were always other smaller towns, but became a royal seat only in the eleventh century. The Sultan Saladin had the idea of surrounding the city with walls, so the city became the largest in the East. Europe has discovered Egypt due to Napoleon, who disturbed the atmosphere of a medieval city. Cairo has been modernized by Mohammed Ali, who gave it a new look.

The main attraction of this city is the National Museum of Egypt wich is located in Tahrir Square. Here are exposed over 100,000 archaeological objects, but the visitors main atractions are The Mummy Hall and the treasure Tuthankamon.
