We got up a little late and grabbed breakfast with John. IHOP may not be the best breakfast place, but you'll always know what you'll get. Besides it again reminded me of how good American service is vs European, you'll always be served in a very friendly way no matter how you look and what type of place you are visiting. And a this place they even had free valet parking, wow :)

Anyhow, after breakfast we went to the Getty Museum, the new one, which is located just North of Santa Monica. Let me tell you, the place is really incredible and beautiful. Besides the fantastic architecture and georgeous view over LA, they had a wonderful art collection. They had a nice Da Vinci exhibition and lots of beautiful paintings by Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, etc. We spent a few hours there, and would have enojoyed to stay much longer, but we really wanted to also go down to Venice beach for a slightly different cultural experience.

You gotta do Venice Beach the proper way when in LA. This means, you'll need to go there on a weekend and of course not for work with your laptop, but rather just to walk and watch people.

Venice is super exciting, especially if you have never been there, but I still love it every time I go. It's a mix of tourists, beach bums, artists, and locals who come out for people watching. Venice has everything imaginable in one spot, we even spotted a medical Marijuana examination, so you can by Marijuana legally :) anyhow, we stopped at one of my favorite restaurants and had some beers, before heading back home.
We grabbed dinner at a Mongolian place in Manhatten Beach, all you can eat, and of course with very few calories as always in the US.

The next day does not have much to report about, we briefly stopped at Manhatten Beach for a quick walk and then headed to the library to do some work. The night ended with a nice Thai dinner.
