Kahului, HI US - Overview: Harbor City of Hawaii

Kahului is recognized as the largest city on the Hawaiian island, Maui. Deep draft harbor and central airport of Maui have popularized the city. It is a key retail and commercial centre on the island and proffers the vacationers a thrilling experience of shopping, dining and sightseeing. Reputed as a commercial juncture, there are lot of water vessels and ships dominating the sea in and around the Kahului town. It is a census designated place and has an overall population of 20,146 (2000).

Weather in Kahului

Located on the north shore of the well known Hawaiian island, the climatic conditions of the city are moderate. Rainfall is observed from October to March. Humidity level is low and the breezy weather makes the stay pleasurable and inviting for travelers.

Sights in Kahului

Though not a fabled tourist destination, the place nevertheless has some noticeable sights to watch out for. The Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary is profound for endangered birds like stilts and coots. Migratory geese coming from Canada to reside here in winters. Maui Art and Cultural Centre is a venue for display of artistic performances, workshops as well as for celebration of local festivities.

Kahului is a centrally located city on Maui Island. Few miles away from this town are some astounding places like the West Maui Mountains, Lao Valley State Park, which has a needle like pillar scaling 2250 feet. Kahuli, being the main city of Maui Island, is very well connected with frequent flights and road transport services. There is a helicopter service available too for the visitors enthralled by Arial view of the landscapes and scenic beauty of the island. Though not explored much, there are variable sites to watch out for in this wonderful place.
