Pateros Sights and Landmarks Guide, Philippines
Despite its small land area and growing population, Pateros still has a number of attractions where you can go to. Sports fanatics will get a load of fun and enjoyment while you stay at Pateros.
The city itself views sports and recreation as one of the most important factor in promoting good health and camaraderie among its residents. There are also a lot of sports leagues from different barangays in the locality. This encourages the youth to be kept busy and active. Although there are no parks in town which people can congregate and have their recreational activities, most of these folks make use of schoolyards and church grounds. Most of the games they play are basketball games. There are 8 basketball courts to be found. There’s also volleyball for enthusiasts.
Your play is not the most important thing to enjoy; it’s the game itself that is more important. Those who love watching the game will truly appreciate and find enjoyment just by simply watching these people enjoy while playing the game. Indoor games like dart, billiard, bowling and table tennis are also among the games people from Pateros enjoy playing. In general, they have scarcity of recreational places, yet despite it, they manage to make use of whatever small space they have to enjoy.
Touring Pateros will also give you a glimpse of its humble beginnings. A few of its famous tourist attractions include the Manggahan & Dulong Bayan Shrine, old houses scattered along Pateros, the new Municipal Hall and the old San Roque Parish Church.
Aside from these wonderful attractions are the Villamonica Clubhouse and Resort, C & N Building Pavillion, Jamyka Penthouse and the SMA Bowling lanes.
You can even visit the famous Balutan and Alformbra Slippers Manufacturing where you can get to see how they work. You’ll get to see how “balut” is being made. Seeing the tedious process of making it and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to taste it too! For those of you who don’t know what balut is, contrary to the normal chicken eggs, some baluts have baby ducks already formed. Baluts are sold depending on the number of months so the longer it is cooked, the more dominant the duck form can be seen inside the balut.
Whatever you do and wherever you go, as long as you enjoy the company you are with, your tour will definitely be a memorable one.
