Just like with other cities around the world, you get to meet a lot of people of different race and culture. If you want to enjoy your stay, it is but proper to blend with their culture. Wherever you go, there will always be good guys and bad guys. Just because they belong to an economy which you may classify as belonging to the lower class doesn’t mean they are harmful.
Most of the places in this town are historical remnants from the past. These places will give you a glimpse of their history. Not only that, there are great panoramic views you can see while you are in the course of your travel.
Notice the streets of Ozamis City. Glancing at your window while traveling, you will still see old houses and establishments built many years ago. Those golf-lovers out there will get to enjoy playing at Malindang Country Golf course. This beautiful place has a chunk of history too. Don’t you know that prior to this place becoming a golf course, this was once a pre-war army facility? They have maintained this wondrous garden with greens located at the foot of Malindang Mountain.
Another historical attraction you should not miss is the amazing bells of Bukagan Hill. You don’t just get there easily. The thrill and excitement of hiking up the hill on foot and fears while trekking the trail as the vehicle goes up will be worth the sweat once you get to the site itself. And what’s more, you’ll get to see the panoramic view of Ozamis City uphill. These bells weigh seven tons. Because of its heavy weight, the community felt constructing a special belfry would be very expensive. To date, the bells remained at the exact location where it was placed years before.
Still more of the beautiful sites you’ll definitely enjoy are the botanical garden, the aquamarine, the historical cathedral, the Cotta Image of the Virgin Mary, the Heroes Park and the majestic Pipe Organ. This is found in the choir loft of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. You get to enjoy street dancing if you chance to visit during their Subayen Festival.
Truly, Ozamis is a marvelous city to visit and see the beautiful culture mixed with a very rich history to be proud of.
