The city of Trujillo is situated in the north western region of La Libertad in the country of Peru. After the independence of Peru, somewhere in 1821 the country was divided into many departments. It was found that departments were becoming too centralized in their working and hence by the end of 2002 departments of Peru dissolved and regions were formed. This is when La Libertad region was born and Trujillo was made the capital of this newly formed region.
The average temperature of Trujillo remains around 21 degree Celsius and mostly the climate of Trujillo is dry. The maximum temperature can touch the heights of around 32 degree Celsius while the minimum can go down to 14 degree Celsius.
The city of Trujillo is also known by the tag of ‘city of spring’ (also called as La Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera in local language) as throughout the year the city experiences pleasant sun and awesome temperature. Anybody would love to live in such an environment. The city also organizes the international spring festival which has now become a tradition for the city. Visitors from all over the country and from rest of the world regularly visit this city so as to attend the festival.
As per the census of year 2007 the population of Trujillo City was around 700000 inhabitants which is actually the 50 percent of the total population for La Libertad region. Same is the reason why the city of Trujillo grabs third spot in terms of most populated cities of Peru.
The city of Trujillo is considered to be the most happening economical hub for the northern section of Peru. The city also excels in agricultural field and is considered to be the center of farming for its neighboring cities. All this started in 1800 with the farming of sugar cane but slowly everything started to grow and today the city excels in rice and asparagus. The city of Trujillo excels in the production of asparagus and today is one of the leaders who export asparagus to different parts of the planet. United States of America and Europe are the major nations that import asparagus from the city of Trujillo. T
