Trujillo History, Peru
The history of Trujillo has gifted the modern city with many beautiful monuments and forts which attract many tourists regularly. Trujillo used to be a city built on a granite hill top. It would provide the complete view of the surrounding regions. Beautiful granite rocks around the city of Trujillo are an added advantage for the tourists. From the hill top the view of granite bed is worth watching.
The city of Trujillo has been ruled by various rulers like Muslims, Romans, Visigoths, Christians, and Jews. It was the early 206 C.E. when the Romans are said to have formed the city of Trujillo. It was the year 414 C.E. when the Romans started to lose their grip over the regions surrounding Trujillo. Slowly the Visigoths took control of Trujillo. By the year 714 the city of Trujillo was conquered by Almohads. From this date till the next 500 years the city of Trujillo kept moving from the control of Muslims to Visigoths and vice versa.
It was finally the year 1256 when the city of Trujillo went totally under the control of Christians. By this year Jewish and Muslim presence was nullified in the city. By sixteenth century they were zeroed in the country of Peru. The city of Trujillo started to benefit due to the dedication of locals towards Christianity. Soon by 1465 the city of Trujillo was tagged as regional commerce hub for the country of Peru. This was the reason why the city of Trujillo has become an important trading city for Peru.
During the year 1500 lots of businessmen and travelers had entered the city of Trujillo for business. Suddenly the economy of Trujillo boomed but in no time took a deep plunge. As a result Trujillo had to give up its naval army (like the complete Peru had to) due to shortages in budget. This had happened somewhere in 1588.
Coming years weren’t beneficial for the city of Trujillo as it had to become part of various wars that had hit Peru. Napoleon the great hit the city of Trujillo somewhere in 1809 and this is when the city of Trujillo was destroyed totally. French armies continued their destruction of Trujillo and due to this the city couldn’t stand up for many years to come.
Lately the city of Trujillo has developed and has become an important trading and tourist center in Peru.
