The house was mainly made from native timbers, Marseilles roof tiles and metal ceilings from Germany. The other features are stunning including the stained glass windows and the rose-themed fireplace and floor.

Beale House. Dubbed as “The Place Where the Doctor Lived”, the Beale House is the oldest lingering house in Hamilton. It was once owned by a famous Hamilton surgeon - Bernard Charles Beale. At present, the house is a lot smaller than when it was during the time of the doctor. The verandah was reconstructed in a more modern style but other features of the house were retained. The Beale House was proclaimed a Historic Reserve in 1994.
