Hamilton definitely has entertainment for the nightlife, as the main street is equipped with plenty of eateries and bars.  There are places where you can party, do some gaming, listen to music, or just sit back, have a drink, and catch up with your friends.

The Outback Inn is a very happening place for having a party, and it is the number one bar for students in Waikato.  It was established in 1995 by Richard Bate and is focused on the student crowd.  It gained popularity fast with its high service standards, as well as successful promotions.  After only a year of being in business, The Outback expanded, doubling the size of their floor and establishing itself firmly in the number one spot.  The bar was expanded again in November of 2004 to include a gaming room, eight pool tables, a new kitchen, a function area, and four bar areas.  There are some major events that take place at The Outback, including Miss Outback and National Nude Day.

The Cook - Café & Bar is a great place to go if you enjoy cafés and bars.  It is located in the second oldest building in Hamilton and has been restored carefully.  You can get great coffee and take a look at their breakfast menu, as well as have a beer or glass of wine from their extensive list of wines.  Their food is made with traditional and simple recipes, with scones and fresh sandwiches available on their counter every day.  They also have plenty of options to satisfy your sweet cravings with their cake tower.  From the tap you can order a Speights, as this is the premier Speights Bar in Hamilton.  This place also has a gaming room that has 15 of the latest games.  They even have event nights, where you can listen to some jazz or laugh it up on comedy nights.

SKYCITY Hamilton is the leading entertainment destination in Hamilton, though.  This place offers a range of excitement and fun for everybody.  There is casino gaming, an a la carte restaurant called Rebo, and four bars, of which include the city's premier sports bar called Zone, and Vue Bar, where you can enjoy live entertainment.
