Leon Sights and Landmarks Guide, Mexico

There are dozens of sights to see and activities to do while in Leon.  Whether you want to see a bullfight or go shopping for shoes, it can all be done here.  Leon is very cheap as well, so if you are looking for a good vacation spot and use your money to the maximum then Leon is where you want to go. 

Mexico is a very religious country so you should expect to see various churches and cathedrals around here.  These religious spots are not just adorned for their affinity with God but also with their architectural beauty.  Some of these churches include the Our Lady of Angels Church which is a fan of artists because of the churrigueresque architecture, the San Juan de Dios Church and Garden, and the Basilica Cathedral which honors the patron saint of Leon and has a baroque style of architectural design.

Equally as beautiful is the flora and fauna that one will find in the various parks and plazas that are located in Leon, Mexico.  These include the Martyrs Square (an architectural delight due to the neoclassic archways), the Metropolitan Park which is a great place to spend the day with your family either bike riding or having a picnic at the Botanical Gardens of Leon.  There are also archways that were built to remind people of  the Mexican Independence which were made of Bronze.  This is known as the Triumphal Arch.

You can then go on over to the Leon Zoo which boasts more than 2,000 animals and it is open every day.  There are also quite a few museums located in Leon such as the Explora Science Center Museum, the Bullfighting Museum and the Leon History Museum. 

If you are looking for ancient ruins from the indigenous tribes, you can journey a bit outside of Leon to Ibarillo and find various archeological sites.  There are also spas located outside of Leon including the La Granja spa and the Los Tanques Spa. 

Leon houses many activities and sights for its tourist to discover and explore.
