The happening resort town of Mazatlán has grown immensely in last couple of years in terms of economy as well as tourism industry. The city of Mazatlán is located somewhere in the state of Sinaloa and happens to be the second largest city in terms of population when compared to all other cities of Sinaloa. The municipality for the city of Mazatlán stretches over an area of around 3100 kilometer square. This huge municipality includes many small communities which are situated in the proximity of Mazatlán. Some of these communities are El Quelite, La Noria, El Habal, Villa Union, and some tiny village too.

The locals as well as the tourists who hit the city of Mazatlán use Gral. Rafael Buelna International Airport (which is also famous by the name of Mazatlán International Airport) so as to travel to other neighboring cities of Mexico as well as to travel to the nearby foreign cities. This huge airport connects the city of Mazatlán to some famous cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Denver, Phoenix, Mexico City, Minneapolis, La Paz, San Jose del Cabo, Tijuana, Guadalajara, and Puerto Vallarta. Other then air transport the city of Mazatlán has also been gifted by a complex network of bus lines that connect the city to many cities of United States. The city also has a unique ferry service which connects it to La Paz.

The city of Mazatlán has become the second largest port when compared to all other ports in the country of Mexico and this has helped its economy immensely.
