Montego Bay Sights and Landmarks Guide, Jamaica
The place to head for complete relaxation for your next vacation is none other than Montego Bay, Jamaica. Montego Bay is a hot tourist spot, and has been such since 1924. And as proof of this increased tourism in Montego Bay, you find a bustling community here at all times.
Besides offering numerous tourist attractions to keep you busy while in Montego Bay, there are quite a few plantation tours arranged here. One such tour is the Bob Marley tour which includes a documentary on Bob Marley and a large memento store.
Activities for adventure lovers
If you love adventures, you could consider going on a rafting tour that takes you down peaceful rivers on bamboo rafts. The Canyon River Whitewater Rafting is such a tour that takes you down Canyon River while passing through a primitive rainforest. Anyone above the age of four can have a trip here, where lunch and beverages are served.
Then there are the undersea tours you can take in Montego Bay in semi-submersed boats. These boats have huge glass windows for you to use to see colorful fishes and sharks without getting yourself wet.
The other activities offered here to adventure lovers are cycling, golf, scuba diving and horseback riding. Montego Bay offers quite a few fishing charters where you get to see a variety of sea creatures like kingfish and tuna.
The Half Moon Cove
If you love shopping, Montego Bay has a famous shopping district you can visit. The popular shopping centers here are the Holiday Village Shopping Center and Half Moon Shopping Village. There are also quite a few shops around the airport, where you can get many souvenirs. A must buy in Montego Bay is a coffee bean necklace.
Montego Bay is also famous for its natural attractions. There is the Half Moon Cove where you find trained dolphins you can play and swim with. Next in line is the Croydon Plantation where pineapples and other citrus fruits are grown. With a visit here, you can get to see what happens in a typical day on a plantation.
Windsor Caves
The star attraction of Montego Bay is Windsor Caves which cave lovers can easily access. However, tourists can also enter it through its roped entry. The caves are full of large bats hanging from its ceiling and dazzling limestone deposits. There are so many bats in Windsor Caves that these caves have the country’s biggest bat population. Moreover, bat droppings are also useful as they are used as fertilizer on Montego Bay plantations.

Please stay away from Sol de Caribbean Villa in Montego Bay, Jamaica. All our party got food poisoning at villa. The tv, fridge, air conditioner, dishwasher did not work. Bad food preparation which cause a lot of vomitting and diarrhoea during our week stay. Owner did not care and refuse to...
