Venice Nightlife, Italy
Venice, Italy is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The city has got several pet names like ‘City of Light’, ‘City of Bridges’, ‘City of Water’, ‘Queen of the Adriatic’, ‘La Dominante’, and ‘Serenissima’. The city sprawls across a group of 118 small islands in the Venetian Lagoon on the Adriatic Sea, with nearly 150 canals in the shallow lagoon crisscrossing the city. The population of the Commune of Venezia is estimated at about 272,000. In most parts of the city, transport is either by boats called gondolas or on foot. Nowadays motorized waterbuses known as vaporetti are used by the residents along the major canals. Venice is a no-car zone due to its marshland soil.
Venice is famous for its opera houses and classical concerts but the nightlife in Venice is somewhat restricted. The restrictions due to noise pollution in the city force the clubs, restaurants, and bars to tone down music volumes in the night and close early in summer. In winter, these entertainment spots are closed even earlier due to severe cold conditions. Still, some options for nightlife exist in Venice. Let us consider them in brief.
Campo Santa Margherita in the Dursoduro area is the place where the local people hang out in the small bars, cafes, and lounges that line the square. Café Blue provides drinks and live music till 2 am and is a favorite of the local people and tourists alike.
Caffe Rosso or Il Caffe, with its red interiors, is also having live music and is considered as a ‘classic’ place in Venice. Orange in the area is a hip joint serving cocktails and the interiors here are done in orange. It is known as a champagne lounge and restaurant. Another swanky lounge and restaurant near San Marco square is Central Restaurant Lounge. This lounge offers various themes every night including a gay night. Open until 2 am, the lounge is quite costly, with a dinner for 2 coming to about EUR 150.
Dance clubs in Venice, Maestre and Jesolo
There are only one or two dance clubs in Venice. The main one is Casanova, a disco joint near the train station in the city. If you are desperate about dancing through the night, then you have to head to the neighboring mainland city of Maestre, where several clubs offer full night dancing till dawn. You would be able to get buses and trains to Maestre from Venice. Al Calice, Al Vapore, and Little Bear are the places that are open till 2 am. Another area of night revelry in Venice area is Jesolo, a resort on the Lido island of Venice. Here, the beach and several discos offer music and dance options till dawn. Marina Club, Capannina Beach, Disco Il Muretto, Gasoline Road Bar, Discoteca K Beach, Terrazza Mare TeatroBar, Sound Garden Hard Rock Caffe are the main disco bars and nightclubs in this area. Most of the bars and clubs in this area are on the beach and many of them offer rock music for dancing. Black Cat Pub, John Martin’S Pub, and OrfeoMaglioni are quite famous for their vivacious atmosphere in this area. Apart from these nearby areas, options for nightlife in Venice are very limited.

A nice city, showing you a huge block of history in the city center, like the palace of the Doge, the former ruler of Venice. Also the markus place offers a nice view. The nice and small walkways are also nice to look at. You can go for shopping there, but be aware of the many people, selling... - A Venice vacation

We got up at 4:30am after just about 4 hours of sleep. Not really enough to go on a long trip, but who cares, 2 drivers can easily take turns so it's not much of a torture. Once we got up, I quickly searched for a decent deal on some Venice hotel for about half the normal price due to some last...

The view was spectacular from this cozy little restaurant, quite near to the Guggenheim Museum. We booked our table in advance, and because we had such a good weather all week, we asked for a table on their terrace. It was the best...
