Tangerang is one of the ancillary cities of Jakarta, which is located in Banten, Indonesia. It comprises of 5 districts and covers an area of 165 sq.km. The city is basically a congested one and rather disorganized like most parts of Jakarta. This is why people generally visit this city for businesses and missionary activities only.

Tangerang is a city built as a commercial and residential city, and not exactly for tourists. The spot that does draw maximum tourists to in Tangerang is the Ocean Park. This is a water fun park located behind the seven floor high German Center. This is a relatively new water park that is said to be the largest water park in Southeast Asia.

If you are interested in water sports, you could also pay a visit to the spellbinding beach and resort, Anyer. It is located to the west of Tangerang, which can be reached with a three hour drive.

The largest shopping mall of Southeast Asia

The Ujung Kulon is a wonderful national park of Jakarta situated to the southwest of Tangerang. You have to drive for about five hours from Tangerang to reach the park. The Lippon Supermall of Tangerang, situated in Karawaci is not only a shopping mall.

It is considered to be one of the biggest malls found in Indonesia. Besides shopping, you can try your luck out at bowling and the amusement park found in it. Golf is a favorite pastime amongst the rich and wealthy in Tangerang; this is why there are a few golf tracks found here.

Keep kids happy while in Tangerang

The Soewarna Golf Club is an 18 hole course found next to the airport. This is a famous sight in Tangerang not for playing golf, but for the Tangerang girls who go around providing you with refreshments, in min skirts. This club is open to the public only on weekdays; if you want to go on a weekend, you can go with an invitation from a member and pay a high fee.

You could also consider making a visit to the Boen Tek Bio Chinese temple when in Tangerang. The atmosphere in the temple is what beckons more and more visitors to the temple.

A visit to the Serpong Town Square is great for you and your kids as you not only can go shopping here, there is a kid’s zone, SeToS war games simulators and the Marco polo Serpong Water Adventure Park that will keep your kids happy while in Tangerang.
