Surabaya is the capital city for East Java province, Indonesia. Surabaya was initially spelled as Soerabaja but later on, the official spelling was changed to Surabaya. There are multiple theories that are said to be the reason why the city received this name of Surabaya. The one which is mostly believed by the politicians is that of a shark and a crocodile that fought for supremacy. Sura stands for shark and Baya stands for crocodile. Hence the city received the name Surabaya.

To add to these features is the Airport of Surabaya that happens to be the 2nd busiest airport in the country. All the major airlines have their flights running via this airport and it is the main center that connects the western region to the eastern region.
