The Rurh area is one of the largest urban areas in Europe and Essen is right smack in the center of it. And in its own right Essen has been and still is among the list of prominent cities in Europe and it is known as the “desk of the Rurh area”. Thus, naturally a lot more is to be expected from Essen aside from its flourishing economy.

The city has several cinemas from which you could choose from such as the Astra Luna Theater, Galerie Cinema and Lichtburg. The city also boasts of several concert halls such as the Weststadthalle, Grugahalle and Stiftung Zollverein.
