Kolding Sights – Landmarks and Monuments

Skamlingsbanken. This monument is found standing 16 meters high on the top of Skamling Hill. Twenty-five granite blocks were used to build Skamlingsbanken. The monument was specifically constructed in memory of the fighters for the Danish cause in Schleswig. Near Skamlingsbanken, some six other monuments can be seen.
Koldinghus. This castle built in the middle of the 1100s used to be the favorite vacation palace of Danish monarchs. It stands majestically on top of the hill in Kolding. Touring the castle, visitors can explore through the halls and the church of medieval architecture.

The Geographical Gardens. This is a series of gardens with nearly 2,000 species of trees, shrubs and other plants organized depending on their geographical origin. Town Park West. This park was created in the 1930s and is comprised of a large area.
