Puntarenas Nightlife, Costa Rica

Puntarenas, Costa Rica is a great city to get away to for a few days. Many of the cruise lines turn lose several hundred tourists into this city every day. In response to this increase in tourism, Punatarenas has now begun to develop areas of shopping, dining, and nightlife for these tourists who flood the city.

Along the Paseo de los turistas, you’ll find several places to choose from to go clubbing or relax with a drink in a bar. There is music pouring into the streets and from the promenade next to the street. This is a great place to entertain yourself until you can start another day of sightseeing.

If you are looking for a great place to dine, consider the Hotel Oasis del Pacifico. This restaurant seems to cater to the yachtsmen that pass through the area. The food and service is quite good, and the restaurant’s décor is Asian. Outdoor dining is available, and the seafood is highly recommended.

The Rancho Bahia Gigante is a hotel and restaurant in Puntarenas. You can enjoy a fabulous breakfast, and return to the hotel for dinner before embarking on your nightlife adventure. The manager’s patio is often used when the restaurant becomes full, and offers a view of the fruit trees in the garden. Many times, as these trees bloom, you’ll see dozens of parrots in the trees.

Rolando’s is another great Puntarenes’ restaurant. Known for its steak and pizza, the owner is not above creating a special dish if you request it. None of the restaurants in Costa Rica can be considered expensive by American or European terms and this one is no exception. Great food and excellent service are the highpoints of this establishment.

Puntarenas is an interesting place to visit, if only you are passing through. It has a unique culture and history all its own, and you will find some great bargains shopping here as well.
