  MEDELLIN, COLUMBIA TOURIST ATTRACTIONS 

Medellin is the second largest city in Columbia, and has in the last ten years become a major destination for tourism.  Facilities abound to host conventions and meeting of any size.  Medellin is also known for being a global leader in organ transplant and cancer research, as well as developments in plastic surgery.

Medellin is nestled in the Aburra Valley and is often a favored place for photographers.  The mountains that surround the city are beautiful and provide a wonderful backdrop for Medellin’s many parks.  One of the most often visited parks is Arvi Regional Park, and it has idyllic spots for camping and seeing the stunning views of Medellin.

Consider visiting Medellin in December, when the city is full of breathtaking, colorful light displays and designs that attract visitors from all over Columbia and the world.  This festival of lights is quite the sight when paired with mountains surrounding the city.

 Museo de Antioquia is home to the artworks of the city’s famous artist, Fernando Botero.  There are beautiful statues and paintings, as well as a large selection of Latino art.  You’ll find many helpful people in the museum who will gladly provide information about the artwork.  This museum is one of the most visited places in Medellin. 

Climbing the Cerro Nutibarra is one of the best ways to Medellin from above.  It’s not a vigorous climb, and once you reach the top, you will find Pueblito Paisa.  This replica of a paisa town has many souvenir shops and a large number of street vendors.  This is really an interesting place to visit. 

Medellin, Columbia is a great vacation spot, with many attractions to keep you occupied.  This city’s rich history and varied attractions should appeal to everyone in one way or another.  Consider this city when you plan your next getaway.
