Shenzhen Nightlife, China

Shenzhen, China has an excellent nightlife available for locals and tourists alike.  Before you start your evening partying away, you can grab a bite at some of the best restaurants China has to offer.

Xin Ming Zhu is known for excellent food and service.  Be prepared.  Some of the Shenzhen restaurants are not used to welcoming foreigners.  You may be watched while you eat.  The locals are not rude, but only curious.

For a buffet style meal, try the Amazon Brazilian BBQ.  There is live music and a wonderful array of food available.  It is located in the belly of an old cruise ship, the MingHua.  The ship was beached in the 1990 and left to rust, however it now houses this restaurant and pub.  There are also rooms available for the night inside the ship.

The Laurel Restaurant is often a destination for Hong Kong citizens visiting Shenzhen. 

If you aren’t sure what you would like to order, ask the lady captain’s advice.  This restaurant is known for its hot winter melon soup.  For the vegetarian appetite, consider the Spaghetti House.  Located in Shenzhen’s best shopping mall, you can find all sorts of pasta and other Italian food.

After you have finished dining, there are many choices for you choose from for the rest of your evening.  You might consider taking in a show.  These dancers highlight some of the cultural works native to China, such as the Ancient Flower God Dance.  Afterwards, you can walk down to a bar or pub to dance or grab a drink.

If you want a bar with some Western appeal, consider Bill’s Bar located inside the Taizi hotel.  Usually filled with oil workers from the United States, this bar has some great music and cheap drinks.  You can even find darts and foosball. 

For those wanting a taste of true Shenzhen nightlife, try the Face Café.  A hip, trendy nightclub, you’ll find some great music and you can grab a snack if you do desire.  For a rock bar and pub, visit the Terrace.  It’s free to enter and music plays until midnight.
