Montreal Sights and Landmarks Guide, Quebec
Montreal is the cultural capital for the province of Quebec and it is also the major gateway for the province of Quebec. Being the cultural capital means that the city of Montreal is very rich in terms of culture of Canada and this is the major reason why it is considered to be an important tourist hot spot in the country of Canada. Montreal is also the second largest city of Canada and is considered to be the liveliest cities when compared to all the cities of North America.
The best tourist hot spot for the city of Montreal is the underground city of Montreal which connects almost every building to the other. Technically the city should be given the official name as indoor city as not the complete city is under the ground. Around 32 km long chain of tunnels connect various shopping malls, museums, banks, hotels, universities, 7 metro rail stations, 1 bus terminal, and 2 commuter train stations. The tunnels are air conditioned very well and are wide enough to have shops on both the sides. This helps the journey through the tunnels to be an exciting one and not a boring one. This chain of tunnels is used the most when the external weather isn't satisfactory.
Plateau is a district in the city of Montreal and this is another famous tourist hot spot for the foreign as well as local tourists. The area is famous for endless chain of duplexes and triplexes, hip hop shopping centers, and various dining centers. All this combine to become the best known place to spend time with your loved ones. The scenic beauty of this residential area is worth cherishing.
If you are a history lover then the Old City of Montreal is the place for you. Multiple museums and many historical monuments which were built somewhere between the 17th and the 19 century are a sight to behold. The best time to visit this area is night hours as during this time the various monuments are lit up with beautiful lights thus providing an awesome look which you won't ever forget.
Some other places which you can visit in the city of Montreal are Insectarium, the Olympic Stadium, Biodome, and Jardin Botanique. These are located next to each other and hence you can visit all of them without spending too much time traveling.

A real nice mix between old and young buildings and a real clean well maintained place... - A couple of days in Montreal

Go check out the old town. It's beautiful. There are plenty of cool bars in Montreal. Chavalle is a great place to grab dinner, quite steep in terms of pricing, but well worth the extra buck. Also, go to the top of the local mountain...
