by Although I had little time in Montreal, I thought that this was an absolute gem. The old town is fantastic and I really enjoyed the climb up to the mountain where you have a wonderful view over the entire city. A real nice mix between old and young buildings and a real clean well maintained place.
People are very friendly and most of them speaks English, although French is their mothertongue. You can have pleasant conversations with locals in some nice pubs or on terraces next to a drink.

Peace was restored when the nationalist Liberals came to the power. The thing is that there conflicts have not made Montréal fade away and it is still graceful, visitor friendly and one of the safest cities in North America with a very low crime rate.The city’s economy has revived too favoured in part by good currency exchange.
