It was about 1 or 2 o'clock in the afternoon when we arrived to the Red Lake (this translation comes from the Romanian Lacul Rosu, but in Hungarian it is called Gyilkos to which means Killer Lake).

It's a very interesting lake because it is full of old tree trunks. It is the biggest dam lake in Romania which took birth in 1837 by the collapse of a huge tract of soil from the mountains. It is said, that when this happened a shepherd with his flock was in the valley and they were all killed by the water and soil coming down the mountain and their blood could be seen for a long time on the surface of the lake so the villagers named it Red Lake.

This place is beautiful so it's full of tourists. The locals play upon this so the prices are high. We went to rent a boat but we was taken aback when we saw its price. If I remember well it was $8 for half an hour for four people (my boyfriend remembers $16) but I am very happy we paid that money because the experience was very good. Zoli rowed and I said where to go:) we had to avoid hitting the trunks but we wanted to touch them so Zoli had to "drive" the boat very close to them. It was fun:)

The 30 minutes expired quite slow (or we were fast:)) so we could go round the whole lake. We even stopped for a while to make some pictures and to watch the ducks on the lake.

After this "trip" on the lake we bought a "kurtos kalacs" which is a kind of cake (which is very delicious:)) and went to the car to continue our way to Praid.
