The day before we had driven to Fagaras city and there we found a pretty fine motel at last... There are many motels and hotels in the area but they are expensive or cheap but with bad equipment.

We tried to find a cheap but nice motel because we had a hard day and we knew that we have to stay there two days...our searching ended at 11 PM, but I think we found the best place for the money paid:)

In the morning we had breakfast, and then we set off for the trip planned for that day. We planned to go up to Balea Lac which is the highest point of the Transfagarasan passage. This passage goes through the Fagaras Mountains (the highest mountains in Romania) and it's opened only in the summer because the ice and the snow don't melt so the road is dangerous.

This was one of the best places visited by us on this vacation. The weather was clear and not too hot and the scenery was amazing.

We stopped to make some pictures on the way up in a 'parking place' and we went walking a bit. We saw an area covered with snow and we went there to play a bit and throw some snowballs in the middle of the summer:)

On the top we saw a tunnel in front of us without any sign where it goes. It had no lights and marks so when we went in we were a bit afraid. We saw almost nothing and we didn't know where will we get.

When we got through it we decided not to go back any more:). We were on the other side of the mountain, so we decided to get back to the accommodation by another way (a too long way...).

In our way 'home' in a little village we saw a pretty big viaduct which was half done. We stopped to ask a boy why is that so. He said that there was an earthquake when it was built and after that it lost its stability so it wasn't continued any more... It's unbelievable!
