by The Eiffel Tower is considered the symbol of Paris and one of the most nonconformist architectural piece of art in the world, even if at first it was met with skepticism. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel and inaugurated in 1889. The tower has a height of 300 m and a weight of over 10 000 tonnes. During the period when it was built it was the highest building in the world.
The tower has 3 levels, at the first two the public access is posible with the elevator and on the stairs too, but at the third level the access is posible only with the elevator
Annually, this building on the famous skeleton of steel, is visited by over 5.5 million people.

Paris History
In 52 BC, Julius Caesar captured the city which became to be called Gaul. By 5th century, invasions were widespread particularly by the Attila and the Huns. Clovis I renamed Gaul to Paris and as the capital of his kingdom. Soon enough, churches were built. In the 7th century, the Carolingians led by Charlemagne took over Paris and resulted to loss of political power. But in 987 AD, Hugh Capet, became the king of France and French government was once again secured.
