Louvre is the largest museum of history and art from France and one of the most important museums in the world. It is located in the heart of Paris in a former royal palace, Louvre Palace. It includes a wide variety of works of art (sculptures, paintings, drawings, ceramics, archaeological objects, etc.) and the exponent of the different epochs of civilization, from antiquity to the present. Some of the most famous works are present at the Louvre: Gioconda, Venus of Milo, etc.

In 2008 the Louvre had approximately 8.5 million visitors, being one of the most visited museums in the world.
