This museum used to be the home of a famous French-born industrialist, and it actually still feels like somebody's home. A majestic, modernist, richly furnished house full of amazing pieces of Asian and European art, which used to belong to the house's previous owner. Even the name of the museum is charming (in Portuguese it means Country House in the Sky).

There are lots of artworks by prominent Brazilian artists, as well as many books by naturalists who traveled to Brazil in the 19th century.

Address:
R. Murtinho Nobre, 93 - Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, 20241-050, Brazil

Price:
Not expensive at all, and it's free for children under 12

Daily (except Tuesday), noon -5 p.m
