Location

Place at the Forks
In 1736, William Penn’s sons, Thomas Penn and Benjamin Eastburn, surveyed around a thousand-acre territory of land between River Lehigh and Delaware. In 1750s, Nicholas Scull and William Parsons again performed the survey to worn out a town known as the Place-at-the-Forks. The newly introduced town was then renamed as Easton. The central square renowned today is the place where a large number of residents as well as tourists meet. In 1776, the central square was the main area where the Declaration of Independence was read. The national historic events are conducted every year on the heritage day.
