Toledo History

They again resettled around 1817 after a Cincinnati syndicate brought a land of 974 acre located at the mouth of Swan Creek. It was named as Port Lawrence.   Three years later, the syndicated failed again and this settlement joined with another river settlement, which were located at the north called Vistula. But, the inhabitants who belonged to this joined settlement preferred to call it “Toledo.” read more
