Reno, a quiet little city in Nevada, is a beautiful place that is worth visiting for its charm. Here, in this article, I will provide a list of places which you may find interesting while visiting Reno.
Animal Ark Inc
This is a huge bestial sanctuary aimed at those poor animals that are rendered inadequate or have lost the skills which would help them survive in the fiercely competitive wild. They get a safe shelter and protection in this sanctuary.
Sierra Safari Zoo
Another place that your kids will love is the zoo that houses a wide range of exotic animals. Sloths, reptiles, hyenas, small cats, great cats, primates and all other species of animals have found a place in this zoo. It is situated on north Virginia Street.
Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center
If the dark black night sky dotted with twinkling little stars fascinates you with its mystery, you can head towards this planetarium to brush up your knowledge on astronomy. This planetarium features public sky viewing with the help of a twelve inch telescope, a free for all observatories open to the public, astral exhibits and an astronomical museum, large format films of Sky Dome and star shows.

El Dorado Showroom
This one is a 580 seats theater housed inside El Dorado Hotel Casino. Broadway style shows, concerts, comedies, ballet shows are regularly held in this theater.
Entertainment at the Reno Hilton
It is housed inside the Hilton hotel and hosts regular stage productions and improvised comedy.
University of Nevada, Reno
The other name of this university, as known popularly among locals, is University of the New West. You can pursue a variety of degree programs in this university that was founded in 1887. Thus, it is one of the oldest universities of USA boasting of a rich academic heritage. You can take a walk round the grounds of the university that is picturesquely decorated. Guided tours of the picture postcard perfect campus are also available.

Reno has a surprisingly large number of museums and libraries like the National Automobile Museum, Nevada Museum of Art, Nevada Historical Society Museum Reno, and Wilbur D. May Museum, Sierra View Old Town Mall Library, Galena Community Library, North Valleys Library, North West Reno Library, Duncan/Traner Community Library and Downtown Reno Library.
