Midland, located in Michigan, is the county seat of Midland County. A portion of this city is included in the Bay County. The population of the city is just forty thousand. A huge number of tourists come to this place to this stunning place.
Midland – Sights: Culture
There are many cultural opportunities in Midland, like music and theatre or science and arts. The Midland Center for the Arts has interactive exhibits in art, technology and science. The Center also has two auditoriums for the Midland Symphony and Theatre Guild to hold orchestras and performances.
Midland – Sights: Parks
The city has a large number of parks, eighty in total, situated over three thousand acres of land. All parks have picnic areas, playgrounds, pools and softball facilities. The Dow Gardens have one hundred acres of garden and also have the original gardens from the Herbert H. Dow homestead. This also has tours.
Midland – Sights: Sports
The city has many options of entertainment for people that are looking for sports related activities. If you are interested in skating, you can go to the Civic Arena, which has two NHL-sized rinks one that is Olympic sized. There is also a BMX track located downtown that can be visited.
You can also go to the Pere Marquette Rail-Trail, which is a thirty mile long asphalt trail going to the neighbouring town of Clare. The beginning of this trail is the location of The Tridge, which is a three legged pedestrian footbridge.
There has been an expansion in the natural trails around the city, with the latest addition being the Chippewa Trail which connects to the Pere Marquette trail. It ends at the Chippewa Nature Center, which has over one thousand acres of woods, ponds, and upland fields.
You can also take in golf at two golf courses; go to the Midland Community Center (which also has swimming pools and exercise rooms), the West Midland Family Center, and the Midland Community Tennis Center amongst other recreation options. Midland is also home to the ninety thousand square foot Hangtime Sports arena.

The downtown district has been revamped in recent years after it won a state grant, and now has many dining, shopping and entertainment options.

There are over one hundred churches in the county, all of them beautiful and architecturally pleasing. This is why the city is known as the “City of Beautiful Churches”.
