Baltimore Nightlife, Maryland

When you are in Baltimore, Maryland and looking for something to do during the night, there is no way that you could be bored.  There are tons of clubs and bars that you can go to for an enjoyable and fun night out in town.

Music and Club Scenes

Many of these places cater to the club and music lovers.  One of these spots is the Baja Beach Club, which presents dance and Top-40 music from Wednesday to Sunday, and they are open from 6pm until 2am.  The club has become popular with young adults in their 20s among the local crowd.  The Explorer's Lounge is another great spot, and it is located in the Harbor Court Hotel.  This place attracts a middle-aged crowd, the environment is lavish with cozy sofas and chairs, the music is mellow, and there are small tables set by the windows.  Pianists or Jazz combos play cool music every night from Monday to Saturday.

Hammerjacks was originally a rowdy club that had national rock performances, but there was a football stadium built in its place.  However, the club has been reopened, serving the locals on Thursdays and Fridays at 9pm and on Saturdays at 7pm.  The club closes at 2 in the morning.  The Recher Theatre has made a name for itself among national musicians and the locals.  It used to be a movie theater, but now it is a club that offers some blues, reggae, and ska but mostly rock.

The Funk Box, formerly known as the Eight By Ten, is a long time favorite that has enough room to hold 400 people.  This club has two bars and has two stories.  The name may have been changed, but the live music has not.  Here you can listen to the best of funk, blues, and rock music.  The Horse You Came In On is a popular place for the post-college and local college crowds.  They feature live acoustic or rock music every night.

Pubs and Bars

There may not be as many pubs and bars in Baltimore, but there are still plenty to choose from.  The Bay Café is a waterfront bar that is considered to be the Margaritaville of Baltimore.  You can enjoy the atmosphere of the Caribbean here, where there is outdoor and indoor seating.  On the weekends, you can find the DJ playing zydeco, Top-40, or any music that is good to have a party on.  The Cat's Eye Pub is also another bar that you may enjoy.  This place has an Irish feel, as they are known for their traditional Irish music.  However, you can still go here to listen to some jazz, zydeco, bluegrass, or blues on an occasion.  They are open every night at 9pm with live music, and they close at 2am.
