Hollywood is a popular city of Broward County, Florida, US with neighboring cities such as Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Miramar, Hallandale Beach and Cooper City. The city attracts a large number of visitors every year and it has several sights to see and visit for the treat of the visitors.

The Anne Kolb Nature Center situated on the Sheridan Street has been named after the dedicated county Commissioner and environmentalist of the region. It is a part of the West Lake Park spread on 1400 acres of land, which is one of the biggest parks in Florida. The visitors are also able to see a diverse wildlife in this region which may include white ibis, peregrine falcon and osprey. The visitors can also tour its mangrove wetlands on boardwalks on foot, by canoe or by bicycle on the trails. The bicycles and canoes can be rented from the nature center or the marina of the park and guided canoe trips are conducted on Saturdays during specific months of the year. Environmental boat tours and guided tours are also conducted in the city.

The Hollywood North Beach Park is a 56 acres park which is a great treat for nature lovers. The park contains oak trees, boardwalks over dunes and lush vegetation. The park is also haven for the sea turtles that surface often for the visitor’s delight. The park also offers long walking paths, beach with the life guards, picnic tables and a high observation tower of 60 feet. Other amenities provided in the park include snack shops and rest rooms.

The Brian Piccolo Park is located in the Cooper City and is perfect for bicyce lovers and skating fans and if you don’t have your bicycle or skates with you, you can even rent them from the park authorities. The park also has a regular bicycle path and a velodrome which features 200 m in-line skating track and 333 m cycling track. If you want to learn the sports, you can have on-site lessons available in the park.

Water Ways Kayak provides lessons of kayaking outdoors in the West Lake and also indoors pools. Lessons include paddling and boat handling and other aspects of water safety. There is also a shop where you can purchase used and new kayaks and other sports related accessories and clothing.

The Hollywood Playhouse is a theatre which offers different entertainment activities such as late night comedy shows, world premieres, occasional celebrity appearances and children’s musicals.
