Sacramento Sights and Landmarks Guide, California
Sacramento has many good sights to see and beautiful days to see them on. It is the capital of California which is one of the biggest states in the nation next to Texas. Thus, it is an important city and has the honor of being in the middle of many squabbles and fortunes. You want to take in as much as you can of whatever this beautiful city has to offer.
If you are artistically inclined, you can go to some art galleries. The Bithchin’ Space is a hangout for local artists. It is owned by a local artist Gale Hart. It changes exhibits every week. There is the Witherall’s Sacramento that shows only furniture that is investment grade, plus Western Americana and Engraved Firearm.
There is the Sacramento Ballet that changes its repertory every 3 months. It is a fine ballet company that is Sleek, Sexy and Strong. You can see classics like the Nutcracker and Alice in Wonderland to modern Operas. It makes for a nice variety in your visit.
The Governor’s Mansion was built in 1877 and is now one of the most historical sites in Sacramento. They give guided tours of the building. Old Sacramento is also a historic site, it has businesses, a shop etc and is a good place to spend time. In downtown Sacramento is Old Sacramento State Historic Park showing off historic buildings and displays.
The California State Capitol Museum exhibits a lot of memorials and provides a perspective on California History like no other. The Indigenous people are celebrated at the California State Indian Museum, their customs and their history is on display. A change in pace is offered by the Town Auto Museum of Sacramento where you can see 150 old cars on display.
A good place to go is the Amador flower farm where you will see 800 varieties of daylilies laid out in different demonstration gardens. For the outdoor enthusiast there is Delta Meadows which offers you a fishing extravaganza and hiking trails. Guided tours are available. There is also the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area where you can fish, hike, camp and enjoy a wide variety of water sports activities.
You could visit the Sacramento Zoo which exhibits rare animals from around the world. Wherever you go in Sacramento or whatever you see, you are bound to have a good time doing it and enjoying the sights and sounds.
