Kaltag History
In 1839 smallpox epidemic hit this village killing a huge number of people. In 1900 measles hit the city and food shortage occurred thus killing around one third of the total population. The major part of this village’s economy is dependent on fishing and hunting activities which are always a riorty in this village.
