Bursa is gearing up for the 2018 Winter Olympics, so you can expect this list to have many additions in the coming years.
Some of the night life in Bursa is to be found in the many hotels located there. Nearly all of them have restaurants and bars in their lobbies that are open to non guests. Of these, two are standouts. The Mimosa Restaurant and Yasmin Bar in the Central Hotel Bursa which offer fine food and a cosmopolitan atmosphere, coupled with lovely mountain views. The food choices are international and the menu extensive. The bar is fully stocked and a congenial atmosphere for a conversation or informal business meeting.
Another upscale outing is to the Mimarun Kasrı Café, which is located in a perfectly restored house and charming walled garden. Live music and entertainment are offered almost nightly but there is a special event on Wednesday nights when Turkish Art Music is scheduled. These traditional, often quite poignant songs are accompanied by the oud, an ancient Turkish instrument and violin.
Other music venues throughout the week include acoustic guitar and poetry readings. You will find the Si Pub on the Gazi Cad; more relaxed and it has a big screen for watching soccer games, the national passion. It is open daily to the early morning hours with plenty of libations and light snacks on the menu. The restaurants in Bursa demonstrate the cosmopolitan culture, cultural influences and local products from the region.
