The city’s nightlife is a perfect mix of modernity and conservativeness. This can be owed to the European influence in the whole country as well as the Muslim influence in the area. However, if it is fun that you are looking for, you need not go very far because the city of Ankara is bustling with pubs, discos, bars, restaurants and coffee shops you can choose from to while your night away. Marilyn Monroe in the district of Tunali Hilmi is a good venue for drinks and food. Most of the Monroe crowd who seek variety head to this bar on Fridays for food, drinks and clean fun. Corvus in the street of Bestekar is home to rock music lovers. The famous rock themes played here range from Western to local much to the delight of the rock-seeking crown. For reggae, metro and electronic music sound, head only to Locus Solus on Kennedy Street.  However, should you be of no preference at all, Bestekar is home to numerous bars you can choose from where drinks are not only good but also very inexpensive.  

Ankara is best known for the döner kebap and of course, the city is infiltrated with restaurants offering this specific type of dish. Should you be of the discerning taste kind, scrutinize the döner round - it should be rectangular and the cuts must be flat and not separated. Fish as well is one cuisine that is popular yet not as affordable in Ankara. For the best fish restaurants, head down to Sakarya where a good number fish restaurants ranging from fast food to stylish ones. In Cankaya, the best restaurants are the Akdeniz Akdeniz and Lazoli that offer Mediterranean and Black Sea cuisine respectively. For coffee, a good number of affordable coffee shops can be found in the busy streets  you should be looking for it. 

Ankara is home to best nightlife in this side of the Middle East. If one is up for dancing the night away or for just a simple dinner with a good cup of coffee or cocktails, there are several destinations in the city that would satisfy your cravings. With this, it would seem like you never left home after all.
