The city of Nan has a rich history that become an important reason for tourists to regularly hit this city.The National Museum is one of the most famous tourist hot spots as under one roof you get the chance to learn about the history of this city. This museum is also famous for the monument in which it is located. The building is the original palace of two famous Feudal Lords now being used to house this huge museum. It is the architectural design of these palace which makes this museum an important tourist hot spot. This monument was originally constructed in 1903 thus you get the chance to enjoy the architecture which is over 100 years old. In 1975 the government of Nan opened this museum after renovating the buildings and thus providing them the original look.
Another important tourist hot spot in the city of Nan is the Teak House of Nan’s King. This monument was built in the year 1866 with pure golden teak but had to be renovated in 1941 so as to give it the original look and make it worth visiting for different foreign tourists. Now this huge house is the home of Chao Sompradhana Na Nan. This house is famous for the historical artifacts it has collected and various heritage antiques it displays. Various ancient weapons, original photographs of King Rama V, war elephant ivory are also part of this teak house thus making it one of the most important places to be visited while in the city of Nan.
Initially around 1817 a long old log wall used to be part of this city but it was destroyed due to heavy floods. In place of this log wall a solid brick wall was constructed in the year 1885 by the famous Nan Ruler Chao Anantavorarittidet. Although you can' t see the whole wall you can get the chance to enjoy the sight of around 400 meters. The original size of this wall when constructed was around 3600 meters.
