Durban is the 3rd most densely inhabited city in South Africa and is popular for being its busiest port. Durban is a major attraction for tourism due to the city's warm subtropical climate and beaches. This Lively City is the heart for major businesses and industries and beats with all the liveliness of a very important port city. Five Star Hotels and luxurious apartments flourished on Durban beachfront offering a wonderful view of the Indian Ocean. Durban is considered to be one of the fastest developing urban cities in the world.

Being the major gateway to Africa, Durban has a widespread road network leading to and from any place in South Africa. For regular domestic and international flights, you can drive to Durban International Airport which is just 10 to 15 minutes away from the City. There is a world-class International Convention Centre situated in the heart of the city and has the capacity to accommodate up to 5000 people for conferences. Some of the major attractions of Durban City include:

uShaka Marine World: It is an outstanding entertainment and tourism destination located at the end of Durban's Golden Mine. It covers around 15 hectares of a major beach front and it is known as Africa's largest Marine Theme Park.

Durban Beach Front: Durban's Golden Mine runs the length of the beachfront in the city. It covers Battery Beach, North Beach, Bay of Plenty, Snake Park and other gorgeous spots. You will come across top quality restaurants and attractive outlets for food.

Durban Botanical Gardens: They are renowned for the unique plant called 'Cycad' which is known to be the rarest plant in the world and a wide collection of South African Cycad species.

Umkhumbane Flea Market: Do not forget to visit the Flea Market because it is the most exhilarating new grassroots trading place offering a variety of stalls for ethnic wear, funky clothes, jewelry and ceramic objects.

Some other places that can be covered in Durban are: Da Gama Clock, Durban's Grey Street for enjoying spicy food, Snake Park, City Hall and many other museums. Durban also has water sports such as surfing, sailing and body boarding which are very popular among tourists.

Durban has always been a reasonably crime-ridden city, so, be aware of pickpockets in the market place especially at night.
