Suceava’s cuisine is one of the most tasteful cuisines. It is marked through fine and delicate dishes. Natives use fish and fowl meat frequently, but they also use pork, milk, eggs and all kinds of cheese. They don’t use lots of spices. We can’t talk about Suceava’s cuisine if we don’t mention dishes such as “sarmale”, “racituri” or giblets soup. A really important role in this area is occupied by vegetables. Vegetables are cooked in several methods: boiled, filled, baked, fried and pickled. A garnish is made out of tomatoes filled with cheese (cow, sheep, goat). A well known and fine dish is “ghiveci”. It is made out of boiled vegetables.
As a desert you can taste cheese pie that is specific in this area. When it comes to talk about drinks, people from Suceava just love brandy. Besides this, they drink usually coffee at breakfast and in the rest of the day wine, beer or “tuica”, which is an alcoholic drink made out of corn.
In Suceava you can find all kinds of restaurants: from the traditional ones such as Conacul Domnesc, to the ones that serve international cuisine such as Acquarium or Taco Loco.
