Ploiesti, Nightlife – Restaurants and Pubs

A unique location for a meal in Ploiesti is Doroftei Pub, the owner being a former Romanian boxing world champion. Located downtown Ploiesti the well known champion’s pub is different due to the interesting and original atmosphere it offers. The walls are full of framed pictures with famous people, boxing equipment, medals, newspaper cuts, generating a strong connection with the place, like you would have been invited to his home. Such a place is Konaque, with an excellent music and food during daytime and which transforms into a club by night with lots of good music, especially from the eighties, and great drinks. Every Thursday night the place organizes live concerts and other such events which last until morning and from time to time a literary café with book releases and public reading other related events.

Other such places in town are the Ice Club, Soviet Klub, Diva Disco and The Club.

Ploiesti, Nightlife - Casinos

There are two casinos in Ploiesti Merkur Casino and Platinium Casino, both of them offering a different kind of entertainment for people with a certain social status. Platinium Casino is the largest in town and began its activity in December 2009. Located at the first floor of the Prahova Hotel the place seems to be taken from a Las Vegas casino with brand new roulettes for as far as you can see and smiling beautiful young girls everywhere. The casino is the third in the country after the ones in Bucharest and Constanta and offers clients with some money a wide range of games meant to fulfill ones need for adrenaline and suspense but also American roulettes and poker tables.
