Eforie Nord- seaside resort –Romania

This resort lies on the Romanian seaside next to Constanta and it belongs to the list of big seaside resorts. You can get here by Train Plane or car. If you come by train you should know that you have to get off the next stop after Constanta if you come by car you should also get to Constanta first and from there head south a few km. The resort stretches parallel to the main road and in some parts you can even see the beach and the sea from the car. If you come by plane you land in Constanta and from there you can take a bus or the train.

There are not many hotels and villas on the beach most of them being located 100 m upwards from the beach so you’ll have a bit of a walk before getting to the beach unless you stay at Europa Hotel for example.

The centre of the resort is concentrated on the promenade that takes you to the beach it is the only street taking you to the beach as the resort lies a bit above sea level. Of course you can also get to the beach from the main road that connects Eforie Nord to the other resorts and many locals choose this way as they enjoy quieter places. They come by car from Constanta for example and stop by the beach and enjoy and in the evening they return.

Between Eforie Nord and Eforie Sud there is a part of the beach where the nudists are. This part is not separated in any way from the rest of the beach so if you think about having a stroll along the beach you should be prepared for the sight especially if you are with kids otherwise your little stroll will soon come to a point of return.

Eforie Nord is only 3 km away from Eforie Sud and you can get from one resort to the other on the beach it is a bit risky though the sea destroyed part of the promenade. The beach stretches for about 2 km but most of the accommodation and amenities are concentrated not on the beach but on the area behind it that is perched on a small patch of land situated a bit higher than the sea level.

There are plenty of restaurants snack bars and shops to choose from and the clubs and discos are always full at night. It is one of the most sought resorts on the Romanian seaside due to its proximity to Constanta and Techirghiol Lake.

You can either stay in hotels or in private homes that are a lot cheaper and offer fully equipped kitchens where you can cook your own meal if you want. There are not many private apartments posted on the internet and usually people find out about them from friends who recommend them. Don’t worry about finding accommodation the last minute as when you arrive at the railway station there are people who wait for the trains every day and ask you if you want accommodation.

Food: there are a lot of places offering tasteless food but you will definitely find something better if you search. There are a lot of good restaurants that have almost the same menu on their list. Snack bars are a favorite and tourists enjoy things like: shaorma.

You will see many people eating on the beach which is quite unacceptable in other European countries but here they know nothing about this and there are a lot of people selling boiled corn doughnuts pancakes and other snacks that’s why beaches are kind of dirty during the day even if there are plenty of bins around. The beaches are cleaned during the night though.

Less posh than Mamaia but having the same vibrant nightlife Eforie Nord is a resort suitable for all those who look for fun sun and nice beaches.
