More than half of the land area of the city of Dumaguete is dedicated to the various educational institutions. This is connected with the city’s vocation as a center for learning in the Philippines. Just beside it is the Barefoot bar. As the name would suggest, it is a place where anybody can let their hair down and play their favorite games such as billiards, table tennis and even basketball. On top of it, one can eat their food on specially designed hut all over the beachfront. In all these restaurants, prices are as affordable as they can get.

Likewise, in the main thoroughfare of the city called Rizal Boulevard, a walk at night on its lighted pavement can prove to be surprisingly enjoyable. A good number of stalls offering grilled food or some decent bars for a night of dancing surely make the walk equally purposeful.
