Cebu is a beautiful city of the The Philippines. Enclosed with water on all sides, Cebu Island is a part of the city.
Location
Situated in the Philippines, the city is known for tourism. With white sand beaches and various recreational activities, tourism has seen great development in Cebu City. A variety of sanctuaries, spas and clubs will keep you indulged while you are on a holiday in this place.
Climate
Also known as ‘Queen of the South’, Cebu city’s climate is changeable. However, the warmest month of the year is May, whereas January is considered the coldest by its locals.
Culture and festivals
The city is a center for enchanting art and culture. Many festivals held in the city are a reflection of the Spanish tradition, owing to the Spanish colonization that stayed here for many years. A lot of dances and musical shows along with visual arts are a part of the festivities. Instrumental concerts take place with bamboo flutes and guitars.
The Sinulog festival is among the main festivals of the city. Held in January, this festival brings color and joy to the city and invites tourists to take part.
Shopping
Shopping in Cebu City is a major activity, which you can take up once you are there. Antiques, crafts and a number of unique gastronomic relics are readily available in the market. A number of markets like Ayala Mall, Carbon Market, Tabian market, Robinson’s place and smaller malls are a part of the shopping experiences.
Transportation
Super ferries along the ports of Cebu are the most popular way of traveling into the city. Being a tourist destination, the city is easily accessible through land, water and air.
Cuisines
A huge number of eating joints around the city form a popular culture of Cebu City, which includes Golden City Restaurant, Café Orchidia, Abaseria Deli & Cafe and Cebu Hria Korean Restaurant. Again, around the famous corners called Mango Avenue and Mango Square, there are many drinking places and pubs. The youthful crowd of the city and many spirited tourists make Cebu City a fun place of visit.
Cebu City is a great place to visit. English is widely spoken around the region. The innumerable islands around the city are peaceful and fine looking. It is a tourist friendly city and sure to offer several unforgettable moments!
